a "furever" family.

Meet Dewey. The vet he saw recently believes he is likely a beagle/shar pei mix.

Dewey knows how to sit, lay down and stay, and can use the doggy door. He spends his day indoors in a crate. Dewey is a companion dog who would love to be your running buddy, or lay at your feet while you watch TV or work on your computer. He is always ready for a car ride! What he does not like is to be left alone.

Previously, Dewey lived for four years in a home with a stay-at-home mom who brought him to the shelter. Dewey was adopted, and then returned to the shelter after a month due to anxiety. He was adopted a second time, but his current home also is finding that being alone during the work day stresses Dewey out. They report that when left alone, he will whine, whimper, slobber and bark.

Dewey is reported to be friendly and social, has lived with kids over the age of 2, and adjusts his energy to meet yours -- whether you want to be outside and active or sitting on the sofa. He currently weighs 65 lbs., although his ideal weight is probably closer to 50 lbs.
